Adjusted predictions for Endgame based on the first 7-days performance by comparing its behaviour to all other major late-MCU movies. I used a foreign/domestic ratio ranging for Infinity War's ratio (2.018) to the expected ratio based on Endgame's performance to date (2.114).
Domestic gross: 870 - 880 million (#2 of all-time) Foreign gross: 1.76 - 1.86 billion (#2 of all-time)
Total gross: 2.63 - 2.74 billion (#2 of all-time)
The prediction is still slightly below Avatar's 2.78 billion, but it's already a lot closer than the initial 2.3 - 2.4 billion estimate. I think it'll be very close and I give 50/50 odds for Endgame beating Avatar at this point. Beating Avatar seems more realistic at this point than beating TFA domestically. But we are in completely uncharted waters since front-loaded numbers as high as this are the first of its kind (Avatar gradually became more popular throughout its run). So who knows, maybe it'll blow predictions out of the water again and it makes 3+ billion.
