Gotta disagree with that. As the other poster pointed out, Mike was the head writer even while Joel was still around.

Sure we lost the inventions when Joel left, but I don't see it as a major loss. The biggest humor came from the interaction between the host and his robot pals. The dynamic with Mike was more a bunch of guys goofing around with each other and ragging on bad movies. I found that a better fit for the show.
