I love onions in many things, and I love seafood. But, to me, they clash with one another. Onion, Shallots or scallions in a tuna sandwich is revolting. I ordered a tuna sandwich in a little cafe near where I used to work. Onions! The next time I asked if they could omit the onions, and they said they didn't add onions to the tuna mix. It turned out that they had cut the sandwich with a knife that had been used to chop onions. From then, on, they always added a note NOT to cut the bread for my order. I did it, myself. I love tuna fish and I love celery but I'll never understand the allure of combining the two as so many delis and bagel places do on the regular. Makes no sense to me (beyond trying to create a texture contrast) and dammit, I'm not going to stand for it anymore!!
