I was a student at UCLA and was intrigued. I merely relayed what the Hasidic Jewish bookseller told me. He said I had to be over 40 and Jewish to buy it. Point is, there is a reason Christians believed Jewish practiced esoteric black magic. To be fair there is a suggestion that one does not learn kabbalah til they are over 40 that is mostly due to time contraints as well as maturity. I own a number of kabbalah books in my occult collection and I have never had to show my penis to buy one. Maybe I was naive but I assumed I would have to go to the Orthodox Jewish part of town to buy the real thing. I wanted a hardbound edition to keep on my bookshelf. I wasn't interested in annotated paperbacks.
