The CGI involved there was much worse than it is now which is why they set the scene at night to cover it up. Something that isn't necessary anymore. I wonder if we're finally coming out of that era. Jurassic Park of course, the T-Rex's finest moments in the darkened rain. I realize that dark &/or rain have forever been artistic notes, cgi or no cgi. It just seems like so often the more memorable cgi cinematic action have been night shots.
