There has been many different Christian sects over time. Many of them quite contradictory, especially in the early days.
Many thoght Jesus was a prophet, but not a deity. Others believed he became a deity at the time of his death. Others thought John the Babtist was the true Messiah and Jesus only his disciple.
The Gnostics thought Jesus preachings was that God was evi (its far more complicated than that, of course). The Catholic church declared a crusade and killed almost all of them, thus proving they where right (in a sense).
I'm do not believe in any religion, but I would have to say it's far more probable, though I wouldn't say it's a great possibillity that Jesus may have exisisted, so I'll go with that.
Though I will say this, if he ever lived he was a Jew and preached Judaism. It was Paul that established the Chriatian faith.
