There is an actual sequel to 'Hellraiser 3' written by Clive Barker and I can't remember what it is called at the moment which is annoying but the character has appeared in a number of the comic books and in the one I told you about she teamed up with Pinhead to take out all the other Cenobites and then in another she took Pinhead's spot and become the new Hell Priest. While the movies sadly didn't follow up her story outside of a small appearance in 'Hellseeker' the comic books have and there have been a few different stories about what happened to Kirsty after the events of the original trilogy and with 'Hellraiser' now officially confirmed to be coming back hopefully they bring Kirsty back too and put the focus back on the character. I think it is more likely the new movie is going to be another remake too but that also gives them the chance to bring Kirsty back with a new actress playing the character and they could use this to put the franchise back on track and have all the movies continuing on to each other again. I liked 'The Scarlet Gospels' and it is a shame Clive can't get back the rights to take over it again himself. The 'Candyman' thing makes the least sense 'cause it has been years since we had a 'Candyman' movie and I thought the rights for that would have expired and gone back to Clive. 
That would be fun and it is probably unlikely as you mentioned but I would love to see Ashley Laurence return to the 'Hellraiser' franchise in some shape or form and it will be interesting to see who they get to play the new Kirsty and if this is going to be a direct remake of the first movie or the novel 'cause in 'The Hellbound Heart' Kirsty is a friend of Rory's who is in love with him and not his daughter and they might make the new remake more like the original novel. I am just hoping it is good and we got the focus back on Pinhead and the Cenobites and Kirsty again. If it is successful they might remake the second movie too or go in an entirely different direction. Depending on how the movie turns out I don't think there will only be one if it is a success and Jason Blumhouse has just confirmed he is working on a sequel to the new 'Halloween' after the success of that movie.
