In other words, after the horse bolted Kathleen Kennedy decided to close the stable door.
It makes me wonder how Disney and Lucasfilm will react when Episode IX underperforms. I see there's a poll on TheForce.net where over 50% of respondents say "I was more excited for both TFA and TLJ than I am for IX".
