Disney just wants to make money. They're going to run it straight into the ground.
George Lucas lost it in between the original trilogy and the PT and he's been accused of being all about the money when it came to SW but the man could have kept pimping SW out after ROTJ. But he didn't. He quit making SW movies, he quit selling toys. I mean people forget but from the late 80s until the mid 90s there was almost no SW merchandise being sold. It was a big deal when Zahn's novels came out because it continued the story.
But Disney is just going to keep making SW movies and they've already lost their uniqueness. SW is just another franchise now, like Fast and Furious, Jurassic Park, Transformers etc.
And they've fucked up the SW mythos and universe so badly with TLJ I honestly don't see how they can fix it without just ignoring TLJ.
