How hard is it to understand that the principle of equal pay for equal work does NOT apply to sports? Equal? If you attract more people (=> ticket buyers, subscribers, merchandise buyers, advertise viewers; all these kinds of revenues etc. pp.) and thus generate more income, then it is simply a difference. Hence, it also does apply for sport. The "work" is just not only to win the games or competitions, but also to win over a crowd of paying customers - in the millions, if not billions one day. And it is the Premier League or the NFL that generates these revenues. They pay has to be in a certain relation to the generated revenues.
