May 27, aka Memorial Day, the day that celebrates the birthday of our Holy Savior White Sox Hall of Famer Frank Thomas, is a day of prayer, remembrance and whiskey tasting, NOT rambling on about what Bryce Harper’s favorite LaCroix flavor is or whining on about how there’s never been a Major Leaguer named Shemp or complaining about how the Manchester United only fly on Southwest. Memorial Day is a day you traditionally go on search parties for lost socks, learn how to play an instrument like the trombone, kazoo or skin flute, or borrow something from a neighbor you’ll never return. It’s always been a day for hanging wall paper, calligraphy, initiating a violent gang, fighting Jeff Bagwell supporters who celebrate his birthday this day (the anti-Memorial day) and waving your penis. It’s a day to celebrate the birth of one of the greatest to every play the game of football at Auburn, #87, Frank Thomas, the Big Hurt.
