Superman Returns was supposed to be a massive blockbuster
It was?
Everything I heard back in the day was... That the movie was supposed to have been a "Get The Franchise Back On Track Film"
I've always thought, and still do, that the movie accomplished that task!
If movie goers expect otherwise, well then that was their problem, not the film...
I guess people were to damned impatient to wait for "Superman Returns 2", which was going to be what more people wanted to see...
As for Brandon Routh, I thought he was excellent in the role... He did a fantastic job of picking up the role from Christopher Reeve.
I honestly can't understand how anyone can think, that this movie ruined his career...
I've seen many actors that had a great role, to then suddenly "disappear" from the industry... Nothing new here.
At least he's back, even if it is on TV... and he's doing a great job with the new role.
