Because it goes against the fundamental rules of the universe to which I would add you should have to support one of the three nearest League sides to you geographically with the possible exception of supporting your dad's team if rule 1 applied to his support of them. No exceptions are allowed and anyone disobeying them should be tattooed on the forehead with the words "glory hunter and publicly humiliated and have rotting vegetables thrown at them. I'm ok then, phew. Three nearest league sides... Bristol City, Bristol Rovers, and Forest Green Rovers. Had to check if Newport was closer than FGR... It's 5 miles further. Narrow escape there 😉 And I should get bonus kudos for having supported FGR since they were floundering around in non-league 👍 Yes, you would have been excempt under my Non League support rule where anyone should be lauded for doing their bit for grass roots footie.
