Sports is life, especially if you grow up in a Big 4 city in the US. Philadelphia teams, with a few random exceptions, have sucked more than they’ve been good during my lifetime, but the thought of dropping them FOR ANOTHER TEAM is absurd to me. True, I barely follow the Flyers now, but I’ll never start rooting for, say, the Penguins or Capitals. I mean, I’m pulling for the Blues, but that’s also partly for my dislike of Boston teams. I’m not about to go out and get a Brett Hull jersey. If you were raised in and live in Dubuque, Iowa, you’re a free agent. Root for whatever team you like. But if you’re from Philly or New York or Boston or Chicago etc. then you’d better root for one of those teams. If you don’t then you are a pussy Cowboys fan. I am from Europe. Ok, well, there are like 8 billion different soccer teams, dunno how you keep them all straight anyway. That being said, I’m sure you live in or near the town of at least one of them, so that is who you should be rooting for.
