Warriors optimistic Kevin Durant will return for NBA Finals

The Warriors are optimistic Kevin Durant will be back in the NBA Finals, but at this point they still have “no idea” when he’ll return from a strained right calf, a team source told The Chronicle.



Durant has already been ruled out of Sunday’s Game 2 against the Raptors.



“Kevin is not going to play Sunday,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said on Friday. “We have been sort of holding out hope, but I might as well just say it now. He’s not practicing today. We’ll have a practice tomorrow, but he’s still progressing. It’s near-impossible for him to play on Sunday.”
