Sorry you didn't like The Brood. Personally I think it's one of David Cronenberg's best. It seems like Criterion and Cronenberg have a solid relationship, as they've released some of his other films. I could watch it again, but the main things I remember were the super ugly interiors (I mean uglier than the inside of Babs Johnson's trailer house in "Pink Flamingos") and the cold, cold atmosphere of the film and the gross ending with Samantha Eggar. To be honest, I am not even sure what the movie was supposed to be about. I am sure there is something going on in David Cronenberg's psyche here, (Isn't there usually?) and that alone could warrant another look. I tried to watch "Dead Ringers", but I soon found myself lost. I liked "The Dead Zone" a lot and "Scanners" was pretty cool. I need to watch "Rabid", that sounds like an interesting premise. One thing about Cronenberg is that he is definitely not for all tastes. And for some he may be an aquired taste. You should also check out A History Of Violence. A straightforward crime drama.
