That's how I watched the Europa Cup final. Worked perfectly. That's good to know - might get one to save my usual faffing about with Kodi / pi updates or laptop to telly via the hdmi. Sounds much simpler... Yeah - HD video too, which I suppose they didn't have to do. I even think you could watch it in 4K on Youtube if you have the bandwidth. Although a Now TV box maxes out at 1080p.
