this land is our land?
i'm
not even
a super huge fan of swiss cheese
but i'd rather be
wallowing
in it
around my knees
then
be documenting
one more
mass shooting
ripping holes in the fabric
of what used to be
a wide open door of opportunity
until the republicans
bent over in front of the nra
and decided
you can stuff all manner of profit margins
in between
the bleeding babies
and the glistening flags you see
promoting
peace and freedom inside
the now barb wired boundaries
as i'm left wondering
will johnny ever come marching home
to anything other than
war memorials
with off ramps to munitions factories?
