It's true that a suppressor is not as quiet as movies make them out. But on a rifle from 100 yards away, I doubt you'd hear it at all.
Yes, the bow and arrow on superheroes is an old throwback. But, as with most old throwbacks, its one that needs to be re-addressed and modernized. For example, give the character other abilities to counter the low power level of a bow and arrow.
SNL did a great skit about the subject when Jeremy Renner hosted. In the skit the Avengers are about to go into action and Hawkeye simply runs out of arrows.
But even with the characters like Hawkeye and Green Arrow I'm willing to suspend my disbelief a little because those characters choose the bow and arrow because they're trying to find non-lethal methods of taking down criminals. They're trying to incapacitate, not kill. On a street level criminal it might be affective.
My problem comes in when they're up against Thanos and Galactus. Did you notice Hawkeye kicking much ass then?
To be fair, Cap isn't kicking much ass against Thanos without Mjolnir. Speaking of which, whatever happened to Mjolnir? Cap and Mjolnir left for the past; Mjolnir never resurfaced. it would be totally badass if Cap's exploits in the past were briefly shown in an upcoming movie and someone was shown to have stolen it or somehow become the new owner.
