I did like her in Les Miserables.
Not too sure why she is highly-rated in The Devil Wears Prada ( she portrayed an ingénue-assistant to a controversial fashion editor, speculated to be Vogue's Anna Wintour)...but maybe after her first movies, that was her first serious grown-up role.
I think she can handle more dramatic roles...but the current film trends are not usually favorable for such kind of roles, with exceptions.
