As cool as the plug in play systems are I never did buy one. I tried to get my Mom an NES classic but scalpers bought them up and I wasn't paying no BS price for that. I prefer getting myself the original hardware and finding games. I'll admit though thanks to collectors prices have gone way up so the mini systems is a decent legal alternative. I used to collect buy, trade and sell old video games. This was back in the day when you could go into any Salvation Army or Goodwill or yardsale and find them for dirt cheap.
But the seriously collectors and speculators really ruined the hobby.
I still like playing some older games but I've gotten to the point where I don't give a shit about owning a physical copy just so I can stick it on a shelf to collect dust. Also modern games are so much better and there's only so much free time. It's hard to go back and play a game like Castlevania or Super Mario Bros after playing Red Dead Redemption or The Last Of US.
