I haven't seen "Zardoz", but it is by the same guy that did "Deliverance" (John Boorman). I think it pretty much ruined his career. There were two films that ruined his career. "Zardoz" was one. "Exorcist II: The Heretic" was the other. I haven't seen it yet but he seems to have partially redeemed himself with a film called "The Emerald Forest." He did Excalibur after both of those.
