You are aware of course that the tempter in the garden is generally considered to be Satan not God right? With respect you are totally missing the point. God either knew about the whole deal and created it, allowed it, or what else? ...gave her freedom of choice...or what is it that you Christians call it...free will? The whole point about free will is that BOTH THEN and now, one needs a knowledge base upon which to make a decision. This was absent and otherwise it cannot be considered 'free will'. What knowledge exactly did she not have? God told her not to eat of the tree, she therefore knew it was wrong, this is why the snake was forced to tempt her. As predicted you have gone down the God knew so he planned it route, but you should really read what I have written to cool regarding that, there is a reason in the story that the serpent tempted eve. So no. it was not god that tempted Eve, and she had all the knowledge she needed.
