I never thought the film was boring. As a child, I though it moved quickly than dragged. True, Aurora doesn't have a personality, but I thought Philip was less wooden than the previous Prince Charmings (the 'No Carrots' scene). I believe the Three Good Fairies were one of my first intros to 'Girl Power.' Their rescue of Philip, Merriwhether taking care of the Raven, etc. And, of course, Malificent. I also enjoyed the visuals and the George Bruns instrumentals of Tchiakovsky's score. I agree that Philip is a little less bland, Claudius (I'm trying to resist the temptation to ask, "How's Hamlet?"), but unfortunately I think Aurora, beautiful though she is, is one of the blander Disney princesses. I still like the picture purely for the gorgeous animation. Oh, and let me welcome you to the board!
