Movies and TV went the non-existent '555' exchange route in response to all those doofuses who try to call phone numbers they've seen in films and TV shows. Back in the day, before they wised up, you could sometimes call a phone number and actually have it connect. LOL, you wonder how many legal threats it took before that finally changed.
