It's like I said a couple of days ago bob, there are two Englands: the one we've seen the past 3 3/4 years who would get into and out of worse situations than the one they were in last night seemingly for fun and the one in this tournament who crumbles at the slightest hint of pressure. It's nothing to do with pitches or players or opponents. It's 100% mental. They're not winning again in this tournament. Whether they make the semis or not is up to Bangladesh. Unfortunately this leaves us with an inevitable India v Australia final with an almost as inevitable 6th WC for Australia. A tourney that promised and produced plenty of surprises in the esrly stages is heading down a boreishly well trodden path. Having just seen the highlights, you’re right. The brains aren’t matching the muscle for England at the moment. A lot of those shots look like cooked minds. Once again, England are picking all Rounders who are failing in both departments. Moeen Ali is easily the most overrated cricketer in my lifetime - even I as a critic thought he had turned a corner, but he batted 9 and batted like it and bowled pies. Woakes at least bowled alright. Buttler is either a 1,2 or 7 and Stokes a 6 or 8. They got too cute and now it’s falling apart. Australia - all smiles, except Khawaja after a good start is a liability. Eventually either Warner or Finch will get a good one early and Khawaja can bat long - but coming in at the 30th over, Khawaja (and Marsh) look completely lost.
