"As violent and horrifying as this movie is, I find this scene absolutely hilarious. When it ends you have to ask, "Couldn't she have just told them?" " I always thought that had to do with surveillance and need to know, and I suppose intelligence agencies use codes of all sorts to relay messages. As to this subject, especially regarding the 'Blue Rose', I wonder if Lynch, and Mark Frost, had any idea what they might do 20 years hence ? Season 3 was focused on it. I noted that Agent Desmond was mentioned but still not found. I assumed he was transported to the Black Lodge when he recovered the Owl Ring from under the 'Chalfont' trailer. And when I saw the Fireman at work I thought of that again. Cooper came back out of the Lodge, twice. It's interesting that Desmond wasn't able to also, even though he was one of The Blue Rose Task Force. And of course another member Phillip Jeffries, did not appear again, in the flesh anyway. Similar to Major Briggs I guess. I thought Frost and Lynch suggested that the first A Bomb blast opened some sort of portal to other dimensions. And Major Briggs' observation post was attempting to observe effects thereof. Mr. C, who we see at the end of Season 2, burned the place and apparently Briggs escaped only to be murdered by Mr. C's phantom henchmen. I thought Lynch and Frost had more to say but there were the inevitable time constraints, so much of the plot was left open ended. I thought the subsequent Frost books didn't entirely answer all my questions, maybe purposefully. Despite the passing of cast members I imagine they could attempt a 4th season, though I'm not optimistic about that. Lynch for one has said he likes to leave some mystery to his stories.
