What brought about this idea for a thread was the fact that the neighbours we currently have living next to us unfortunately elicit this sort of response from me most days... But what about neighbours from the movies? Good ones, bad ones, or just simply ones who'd be described as a 'weird family'... Just like the two families (the Szalinskis and the Thompsons) in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989) described each other at different points in the film. As the parents (from left to right): Diane Szalinski (Marcia Strassman), Wayne Szalinski (Rick Moranis), Mae Thompson (Kristine Sutherland) and Russell 'Russ' Thompson, Sr. (Matt Frewer). As their kids (from left to right): Ronald 'Ron' Thompson (Jared Rushton), Nick Szalinski (Robert Oliveri), Amy Szalinski (Amy O'Neill) and Russell 'Russ' Thompson, Jr. (Thomas Wilson Brown). After their ordeal, they all come together at the end. Then there's Mr. Wilson (Walter Matthau) and his constant tormentor, Dennis Mitchell (Mason Gamble), from the 1993 film Dennis the Menace. And lastly, for a change, two neighbours who didn't start off disliking each other - Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst) and Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) from 2002's Spider-Man.
