I liked Wanda's accent being gone. I thought it was tacky on arrival, I wish it'd happened sooner. Hulk on the other hand...I understand why they did what they did. Given the direction they took, it probably couldn't go any other way. He did snap back the missing half of all life, but I would have traded it all and let someone else do it so I can see OG angry Hulk smash one last time.
Watched The Avengers last night for fun. Every second Hulk was onscreen, my brain is repeating back to me this is what's missing from Endgame.
I understand the direction they went both with Hulk and Thor, I just wish they handled it better and with more respect. Like, ok, I get that they wanted Professor Hulk. So explain it properly and give him some badass scenes instead of just being a wall flower. Ok, I get they wanted a fat Thor. But at least give him a chance to redeem himself somewhere in the movie instead of being just a useless joke throughout. The scene with Thor and his mama was rather nice. That's the thing that throws me about some of the decisions in Endgame. Even the stuff I don't like is well defended, padded with the insurance of being so integral or making so much sense that they don't come across as superfluous.
When Thor was suiting up for the final battle, I was disappointed. I thought he'd be thin and rocking again, but he was still fat beneath his new armor and his beard turned into a braid. A not unattractive braid, but I thought the lightning was going to make him dapper and Godly again.
Hulk totally threw me. I don't even remember his explanation for how he accomplished merging the two. I thought maybe the snap killed Banner but not Hulk, I thought Thanos punched Hulk so hard that the two egos fused within the body...When I saw him in the diner, all I could think was what the fuck is this? I got used to it, but then leaving the theater, I thought what the fuck was that?
