The fake pockets is mostly on women's clothes. It's seldomly seen on men's clothes.
But the price tag versus actual value of the material used is something applied to quite a lot products out there that are not even related to fashion.
For the prices, go on the Internet. I haven't bought a t-shirt in a physical, brick and mortar shop for a decade now. I still buy most of my pants and coats in stores though.
If you hate logos, go at Banana Republic. Their prices are high but on sale you can get some pretty neat stuff at pretty decent prices.
