I think people will freak MORE if its a lead character, like Batman himself; as opposed to say Commissioner Gordon; or Lucius Fox (who is a black character in the comics anyway, so...).

I remember some suggesting Idris Elba himself should play Batman.

I could see that actually. I'd prefer him to Robert Pattinson, for crying out loud!
