How long will people have to bring up Transformers and Fast and Furious as being the shining beacons of the scourge of Financially Successful/Popular movies before it's a trope or cliche to do so? We are way past that point. The worst part is that the same people who bring up this worn out trope are the first ones to howl about financial success when of the movies they like does well at the box office. Remember the days when this board was filled with Nietzschean supermen who decried the evils of making content explicitly designed to appeal to the largest amount of people possible (aka the dreaded LCD)? Where are they now? Alone in dark movie theaters watching films that were made for them and them alone to see? They've turned their backs on us!
