What's your opinion on fantasy sports?
I resisted the institution for a long time as I observed players who seemed to be more invested in stats and individual numbers than the sport itself, indeed, knowing more about how many fantasy points a QB got than which team had won a given game. Indeed, when I tried fantasy hockey several years ago, I found that I would check the stats of my own players before the scores of the actual games. I didn't like what I was becoming. However, I took part in fantasy NFL last year and crushed it as a rookie, so naturally I'm in for the long haul. It's fun to root for individual players in games you're otherwise neutral towards.
I also play fantasy Premier League and it's a good way to stay plugged into aspects of sports that you would otherwise pay little to no attention to; in this case, what's going on with the lower-tier and mid-table teams outside of the big name clubs.
However, I would only play in one league per sport at a time and certainly the results of the actual sports trump my fantasy prowess at all times in terms of my rooting interest.
