Fantasy sports is awesome. Fantasy football is the best imo. Just has the best format and is done in one weekend instead of lasting a full weeks worth of scoring. I would watch so many other teams games simply because I had vesting interest in a fantasy aspect. Why else would I have been watching games like Lions vs Browns in the past?
I also play Fantasy Baseball and Basketball. Baseball I follow and do well in. Basketball I only follow through my fantasy team. I know some players but mostly when I draft I'm just throwing money at some guys. In 4 years in doing the league I've won the league once (my first year), missed the playoffs the next 2, and then this year came in 2nd after having the league's highest scoring team. In baseball I am in the playoffs every year and have won my league multiple times. Sadly this year my team has been fucked with injuries to key players.
So yeah, fucking play fantasy. It's awesome. Get a pool of money going to start the season like $20 or $40 bucks and the league winner gets the pot. It's a whole lot of fun. No idea why anybody tries to look down on it anymore. Some of the most fun days of the year for me is when me and my college friends get back together for draft day and make a day of it. It's also a nice way for friends to stay connected to one another when you eventually move away from each other.
