trick r treat is better than The Shining. Few movies have wasted a great atmosphere of dread like The Shining did. The scenery chewing is cringe often and the butt ugly annoying shelley duvall is horribly miscast and fails to raise even an iota of sympathy. I would have loved to see Jack bash her brains in bash em right the fuck in.

IMO....

The Shining is one of the few horror movies out there that has a very high re-watch value - i.e. you can watch them over and over again and never get tired of them (at least for me).

Just off the top of my head - the horrors I can watch over and over and never get tired of them:

JAWS
The Shining
Night of the Living Dead
