Then he's not gay. There's no point in making a character gay but then not exploring that aspect of said character. For all intents and purposes he'll not be gay. Dumbledore anyone? Supposedly gay. Would you ever know? No. Because it wasn't explored and it wasn't integral to the story. So why put it in? All things being equal leave sexuality out of it and just tell the story.
