Consisting solely of 5 extended vignettes, documenting the slowly crumbling career of fictional rock musician Becky Something played with gleeful elan by Elizabeth Moss. At turns frantic, sombre and tense, full of wilfully distancing stylised dialogue and for the most part in-your face hand held camera work. Some minor quibbles aside an interesting take on the fake rock biopic genre.  the title is so offputting to me... but I think I will give it a chance. |
