They do honor and respect the spirit of the source material, more faithfully than many other comic book movies. They just don't use it as a strict blueprint and they pull from several different iterations from over the decades, not just a single run that you may (or may not) be more familiar with.

Lots of critics are biased i think that's clear with mcu movies. Calling them out will inform people i have that obligation. I don't expect blueprints of the books but they aren't honoring the spirt of the books maybe except Winter Soldier. All the forced jokes and humor is proof they aren't honoring anything

That's a fair criticism. I don't know shit about the books so the movies will never disappoint me on that level. If you're all about the comics and the movies don't live up to the source material, I get that. The movies are my source material though.

I don't know about critics though since I actively try and avoid them.
