Gus Grissom, died, along with his fellow astronauts Ed White and Roger B. Chaffee, on January 27, 1967, when the Apollo 1 Command Module interior caught fire and burned, during a plugs-out test, resulting in the crew being asphyxiated...

"Un-Determined" accidents, such as these, happen all the time... and are usually never considered to be "Mysterious & Odd"...
So, why do you find the accident to be so "Mysterious & Odd", that you would mention it this thread?
