We have a soldier (Gallagher?) just found innocent of murdering a young man. His attorney is now trying to overturn the thing he was found guilty of-taking a trophy shot of the victim-because that conviction got him tossed out of the service at a reduced rank & affected his future benefits he would otherwise receive

SAN DIEGO -- A Navy SEAL was acquitted in San Diego Tuesday of murder and other charges stemming from various alleged war crimes, including the fatal stabbing of a wounded teenage ISIS fighter and shootings of Iraqi civilians.

Special Operations Chief Edward Gallagher was acquitted of six of the seven charges he was facing. A jury of five Marines and two Navy men convicted Gallagher solely of posing with the teen's body in a photograph.

Shouts of "Free Eddie" rang out as Gallagher's friends and family stepped out of a military courtroom. One of Gallagher’s attorneys celebrated his acquittal on the most serious charges with a fist pump as he walked towards the cluster of news cameras.

“Suffice it to say: huge victory!” said attorney Marc Mukasey. “A huge weight is off the Gallaghers -- a huge victory for justice.”

The verdict means Gallagher will walk away a free man. The charge for which he was convicted carries a maximum sentence of four months behind bars, which he has already served.

Gallagher, 40, could have faced up to life in prison if convicted of murdering the teen in May 2017, as well as shooting a male and female civilian and shooting at an unknown number of other civilians later that year in Mosul, Iraq

Seems to happen all the time.

The difference between the 2 is that Bucky was under mind control. Something that DC-Fan likes to conveniently forget. But we'll allow something like Batman gunning down a bunch of guys transporting and guarding something that rightfully belongs to their boss.
