It's not that I can't STAND it, but it does strike me as strange and a little bit ridiculous that Disney is pushing all of it with a straight face. But, I mean, they're raking it in, so good for them, I suppose.
Why would that be strange? It's a great product, and when they reintroduced that version of the team in the comics it was massively popular.
Just because it was a newer team and not a part of the golden age comic characters you always think about doesn't mean it wasn't awesome. They knew it, and as a fan of the comic, I would say they nailed it. If you read the books, what you see in the films is what you get. It's fun, it's exciting, it's always new and wildly adventurous.
Why would they not push that?
