How did Fury climb the ranks in 15 years?

Goose is a Flerken he only physically resembles a cat the same way Goku physically resembles a human being, but like Goku Goose is an alien being with a vastly different physiology and has capabilities that no Earth creature they resemble is capable of having. 

Name one house pet you know of by hand who is capable of doing anything that Goose can do - Eat very large objects in one gulp, digest cloth, bone, metal, and radioactive material, can do interdimensional travel, etc.
