There’s been a bizarre hate culture on the Raimi trilogy since the TASM films. People just love what’s shiny and new I guess You’re free to enjoy whatever films you want, but no need to tear down older ones No need to tear down the older. It would be prudent to revisit your favorites every once in a while to see if it holds up. I look at older movies with 2 POV. One as a product of the time it was made. You can't compare Superman 1 and 2 with the same eye that you would look at a movie from 2019 for subtext, effects, etc. It's a product of the time it was made. I also try to divorce myself from the Nostalgia in my POV. Now this is only when I am in the mood to judge a film. If I am just watching it to enjoy it I'll just watch it.
