This is a trend that seems to intensify with time. Fans of the newest incarnation of a beloved character feel compelled to tear down the old incarnation to bring complete and utter validation to the new.
We saw it when Batman Begins came out and everyone decided that Batman 89 was UTTER SH#T. (I was guilty of this too then)
We saw it when TASM came out and suddenly the Raimi series was UTTER SH%T.
We saw it when Batflek was announced and suddenly Bale was UTTER SH%T. (This one is laughable in hindsight)
Now of course we see it with the Holland movies and, again, Spiderman 2.

It all evens out though. It's usually younger fans that try to tear down the old to validate the new, while older fans often refuse to accept any incarnation of a character other than the one they grew up with.
Personally, I still enjoy Nolan and Burton's Batfilms. I enjoy the Raimi Spidey (1 & 2 at least) as well as MCU Spidey. I never saw TASM films because they looked terrible, not because I thought the character couldn't be done better than Raimi.
