I see your point, but you're going to have use a different team as an example. Belichick is constantly (fairly) criticized for leaving his starters in long after the game has been decided. He'd send the starting offense onto the field up by 24 in the 4th quarter in week 20. But that’s in an individual game. Haven’t the Patriots been most successful the years they get a first round bye? I mean I know the odds favor any team getting a bye but isn’t a bye worth its weight in gold to Belichick? Think Brady couldn’t use 3 weeks off at his age? I agree with you 100%, but good luck convincing Belichick. That guy will have his #1 receiver returning punts in week 17 when they already have the bye wrapped up.
