Anyone remember the term "Internet 2.0" or maybe "Web 2.0"? IMDb taking down its message boards is just another sign that the 2.0 experiment failed (as far as corporations are concerned). It seems there is an increasing number of cases where websites are disabling the ability for readers to interact.
I stand by my belief that IMDb did the wrong thing. They had the ability to foster a healthy community of loyal users, and they threw that away because they weren't able to see its full potential.
