It's solid and I think Brad Dourif's daughter (Fiona Dourif) was a good addition to the series (Curse of Chucky (2013)/Cult of Chucky (2017)) as I think she boosts those movies.
I mildly like all seven movies of the series... Child's Play (1988)/Child's Play 2 (1990)/Child's Play 3 (1991)/Bride of Chucky (1998)/Seed of Chucky (2004)/Curse of Chucky (2013)/Cult of Chucky (2017). I don't have any clear preference of the series but, off the top of my head, Curse of Chucky would probably be among the better ones of the series. I have seen the 2013 movie twice so far and the 2017 once.
p.s. come to think of it... I might re-watch all seven movies as I re-watched the first six between July 29th through Aug 1st 2016 and I have only seen the 7th movie once so far on Sep 29th 2017.

While I don't consider myself a big fan, I do like the movie. but just given the fact I like and will re-watch the movie makes it better than the vast majority of Horror movies since that genre is largely a dime-a-dozen. NOTE: like for a more popular genre I think the Horror genre is generally one of the weakest genres.
so in a way I basically agree with you simply because of what I said above.
also, I like how they changed the tone in that movie to as it was going down a more silly route and they tweaked it back to a bit more serious tone... like the first three movies, then the next two changed to more comedic, then back to a bit more serious (but as usual still has some comedic stuff in it like it always has).

One of my favourite horror movies. Dead serious.
