As an older example, One Million Years BC.’ (1966)
The selling point for that was the FX and Raquel Welch in a bikini. It was like the beach blanket movie combined with dinosaurs.
Twister--when someone sued Michael Crichton for that one--Spielberg said the movie was like %20 story and 80% FX so the plaintiff had no case since story didnt matter.
