Claude Monet painted this ( one of many in the series) of waterlilies on a pond in his own garden over a century ago --  Amazingly, his inspiration still exists today if you visit his famous garden in Giverny ( north of Paris). There are two gardens -- one is a flower garden ( Clos Normand) which is right outside his house ( also open for visits) and across the road is his famous Japanese garden. The Japanese garden as it exists today ( the bridge has been there since the time of Monet) --
