The other hope for England is that Australia don't learn from 2015 and try to smash Ali out of the attack every time he bowls and lose wickets as a result. It never really made sense to me why you would not want to milk Ali at one end given England have 4 pacemen and plenty of top order spin options anyway. Fair enough to go after spinners early if they're actually good and you want them out of the attack (Hayden tried that tactic with Harbajan in 2001 with great personal success) but when they're about as threatening as England's coach Trevor Bayliss was when he bowled part time straight turners then I'd like him bowling as much as possible.
